Job Description
Our client, a leading fitness and health provider is looking to hire a
Senior Accountant. Reports To Manager of Accounting, the Senior Accountant
will participate in the monthly closing process. This position will work
closely with Managers and Senior management to meet reporting, variance
analysis, budgeting, and ad hoc business analysis. Identify issues and make
recommendations for assigned areas.
Responsibilities
· Prepare and post journal entries for payroll related expenses.
Responsible for handling club compensation related inquiries from the club
management. Work closely with Treasury and Payroll departments to ensure
accuracy of the records.
· Maintain and reconcile accrued payroll, withholding, vacation,
401k and other compensation related balance sheet accounts.
· Prepare and post standard monthly closing journal entries for
other assigned P&L accounts.
· Able to support the transactions and fluctuations of the assigned
PL accounts.
· Responsible for assigned club financial statements and statistics.
Review the club financial statements and inquire unusual fluctuations from
budget and prior year.
· Respond to inquires from the field on a timely basis. Must be
able to understand the intent of the users of the financial statements.
Provide information which is meaningful to the users.
· Assist manager of accounting with corporate expenses and
preparation of various supporting documents for the executives.
· Assist manager of accounting in monthly revenue posting and
related balance sheet accounts.
· Assist validating the accuracy and completeness of various
internal financial reports.
· Prepare ratios and other types of analytical to assist users of
the financial statements, when needed.
· Assist the controllers group for preparing monthly financial
packages for the monthly review and executive meetings.
· Able to work effectively with other departments, such as Accounts
payables, Treasury, and Financial Systems.
· Assist managers and directors in dealing with external auditors
during the annual audit.
· Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements.
· Assist controllers group in preparation of annual budgets.
· Supervise staff accountants.
Qualifications of the Candidate
Qualifications
· A Bachelors Degree in business with a concentration in accounting.
· Minimum 3 years experience in accounting, monthly close and
preparation of various financial reports.
· Knowledge of MAS500 and Hyperion a plus.
