Job Description
The Interactive Developer / Animator works closely with scientists and media and exhibit researchers, writers, producers, and evaluators to develop creative multimedia and web-based illustrations, animations and Flash interactives for engaging Museum visitors and web audiences in nanoscale science, engineering and medicine through digital media and live presentations.
Work with an in-house production team to design, storyboard, produce, and test various approaches to creating and displaying interactive content within various user interfaces.
Program and provide action scripting for multimedia interactives.
Help develop cartoon characters and storylines as appropriate.
Produce and program finished animations and interactives and revise as necessary for maximum impact.
Participate in meetings, conferences and workshops as required, and be prepared to travel.
Manage workflow and multiple projects.
Perform other work-related duties as required by the Director of Strategic Projects

Qualifications of the Candidate
Bachelor�s degree plus more than three (3) years of experience
Excellent illustration and 2D animation skills (3D modeling and animation skills a plus)
Excellent HTML, Flash, action scripting, and interactive design and programming skills
Excellent science communication and story-telling skills
Excellent sound design skills
Excellent creative team development skills
Experience with Java programming helpful
