Summary of positions available with Eskom Holdings
Minimum of 2 years experience in any of the following disciples:
Engineers/Senior Engineers/Chief Engineers:
Electrical, Mechanical,
Chemical, Nuclear and Civil engineering.
Procurement/Supply Chain Managers:
Deep understanding of procurement
concepts, logistics management and operations, supply chain management
principles and best practices.
Project Managers/Project Coordinators:
knowledge of engineering
/construction project life circle development and management.
Accountant/ Auditors/Finance: Accounting principles, knowledge of the
auditing process, audit engagement, development of risk and control matrices
(audit program, executing the audit program, reporting, and follow-up action
Managers/Senior Management/Consultants:
Providing Human resources
management, tactical leadership, information technology, and administrative
management
NUCLEAR POSITIONS |
Nuclear Operational Readiness
Focuses on ensuring that the operational requirements for the new nuclear
power plant are met and the right level of people, systems and processes are
put in place to ensure readiness when the plant is handed over for
commercial operation. Opportunities exist for people with operational
readiness experience in a similar environment.
Engineering
Provides full scope engineering for all aspects of the nuclear programme
including nuclear analysis, mechanical, electronic, civil and control
instrumentation. Opportunities exist within all of these specialised areas.
Project Development
Coordinates project development activities leading up to a business case,
which is then presented to Eskom delegated committees for consideration.Also
responsible for writing the business case with input from various areas
within Eskom e.g. finance, commercial, engineering and the client office and
for obtaining required organisational buy-in from key stakeholders as well
as their required approval. Opportunities exist for Engineers, Project
Managers and Advisors.
Nuclear Programme Support
Develops and provides full support to the entire nuclear programme through
efficient and effective cost engineering, planning and scheduling, people
development, contracts management, documentation, integrated processes and
systems, facilities and risk management. Opportunities exist in all of these
areas.
Nuclear Project Management:
Involves all aspects of planning, building and commissioning the new nuclear
power station as well as the establishing of support infrastructure.
Opportunities range from Project Managers, Planners, Logistics, System
Engineers, Safety Officers, Quality Technicians, Quantity Surveyors to PA’s.
Stakeholder Management
Develops and implements strategies and plans to engage with stakeholders
(including, but not limited to, government departments, regulators, the
media and the public) and has the responsibility for obtaining the
authorisations required for the nuclear power programme (for example nuclear
installation licences and environmental authorisations, amongst others).
Nuclear TSAPRO/Localisation
Identifies and facilitates the local manufacture of plant components
including opportunities in the complete value chain of the nuclear fuel
cycle in accordance with the current draft Nuclear Energy Policy.
Nuclear Fuel Cycle
Provides nuclear fuel and spent fuel management services such as procurement
of uranium ore, conversion services, enrichment services, fuel fabrication
services and spent fuel management services within the appropriate
regulatory requirements. Opportunities exist here for Senior Engineers.
Nuclear Quality
Puts in place processes and procedures that ensures regulatory compliance
through amongst others an integrated management programme that seeks to
achieve a high level safety culture within a nuclear organisation and
project. Opportunities exist for people with quality related experience in a
similar environment. |
